What it is

SEO Investment Academy is SEO Alternative Investments’ pipeline program that introduces candidates to the broad world of alternative investments. Through year-round programming and engagement, Investment Academy equips candidates with the foundational knowledge necessary to launch a career on the buyside.

SEO Investment Academy is for you if:

You’re a first-, second-, or third-year investment banking analyst, research analyst, sales and/or trading analyst, management consultant, or related professional field, in a full-time position

You’re a college junior with a prior or upcoming internship or a college senior with an offer for full-time work post-graduation in any of the above fields

You’re interested in private equity, hedge funds, credit, real estate, infrastructure, or other buyside roles

You want insider guidance to gain an edge in your recruiting process

The SEO Investment Academy equips high-achieving investment banking analysts, research analysts, sales and trading analysts, management consultants, and related professional fields with the technical skills and the investing mindset they need to launch and sustain a fruitful career in alternative investments.

  • Virtual Small Group Workshops: Personalized training with investment professionals from a variety of our partner firms.
  • Virtual Large Group Workshops: Training sessions covering various asset classes in the alternatives such as private equity buyouts, hedge funds, credit, real estate, and more.
  • Hear from our alumni, network with industry professionals, and get access to case study training and preparation modules designed by partner firms.
  • Case studies are delivered to you by our partner firms, offering you an opportunity to directly interact with senior investment professionals and hiring managers.

SEO Investment Academy accepts applications on a rolling basis from early fall to late spring.

Who should apply?

The SEO Investment Academy is open to both SEO alumni and non-alumni.

All who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:

  • A first-, second-, or third-year investment banking analyst, research analyst, sales and/or trading analyst, management consultant, or related professional field, in a full-time position.
  • A college senior with an offer for full-time work post-graduation as an investment banking analyst, research analyst, sales and/or trading analyst, management consultant, or related professional field.
  • A college junior with a prior and/or upcoming internship in investment banking, research analysis, sales and/or trading, management consulting, or a related professional field.

The Investment Academy prepares participants with the early skills and the investing mindset needed to launch a career in alternative investments.

SEO Investment Academy is designed to prepare individuals who are not currently on the buyside and help them begin their transition to a buyside role. Unfortunately, we don’t have the resources to support candidates already on the buyside who want to move to other buyside roles. If you’re already on the buyside, you’re not eligible to apply for Investment Academy, but we encourage you to look at some of our other program initiatives.

Applications to Investment Academy are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

The SEO Investment Academy events are primarily virtual events, held throughout the fall and the spring. There will be fewer activities over the winter and  summer. Events are typically scheduled outside of working hours to not disrupt work obligations.

Investment Academy is a separate program from the Alternative Investments Fellowship Program (AIFP), and Credit Academy.
