SEO Career has two phases: Edge and Success. Edge is an intensive multi-week training that provides you with everything you need to prepare for interviews and land an internship. If you land an internship with an SEO Partner, Success prepares you to succeed in that internship…and beyond.

We review applications for Edge on an ongoing basis and candidates are selected to receive career prep resources, training, and coaching year-round. Recruiting for summer internships can begin as early as December/January — 18 months before the summer. Ensure you’re aware of your desired industry recruiting cycles and apply accordingly, the earlier the better!

Once you apply, the typical response time is 6-8 weeks. Please monitor your email for next steps.

SEO assists trainees with obtaining internships by providing resources to help participants learn about internship opportunities, meet recruiters, prepare for the application process, and practice interview skills.

Participation in Edge doesn’t guarantee an internship offer or automatic matriculation into Success.

No, acceptance to a partner internship program doesn’t guarantee acceptance into Success. Students will receive a separate invitation to participate in Phase 2: Success if eligible.

The Career Summit is a mandatory event open only to SEO interns. This usually takes place a week or two before the start of the summer internship and seeks to provide interns with additional professional development, technical and industry knowledge, and networking opportunities.

This training is hybrid, in-person in New York City and via live stream.

They can email a recommendation to us at seo.career@seo-usa.org. The alum should include their contact information, employer, and Career year. The letter should address the following items:

• Why have you taken an interest in this student’s candidacy?
• Are you knowledgeable about the applicant’s academic achievements or extracurricular activities? If yes, comment on specific accomplishments.
• Provide a candid assessment of the applicant’s strengths and weaknesses.
• Identify some of the applicant’s qualities that make them an outstanding Career candidate.

After you complete your welcome call, take advantage of the coaching, interview practice, and self-study materials we provide. Like our other SEO Career programs, your dedication and commitment to yourself and to SEO will set you up for success as you prepare for interviews and become desk ready.

For the 2025-26 program, the application deadline is January 30, 2026. Full-time roles are posted throughout the year on an ongoing basis. Check in with your SEO coach and/or industry specialist, along with the job portal and email communications for the latest full-time opportunities.

Our roster is always growing but typically these are entry-level roles that require 0-2 years’ work experience such as analyst or rotational programs, across various industries/functions including finance, investment banking, marketing, commercial real estate, sales, operations, HR and IT.

No, the SEO Career Summit is a mandatory training and event exclusive to SEO interns.

The Summit takes place in late May (dates fluctuate slightly year over year), usually a week or two before the start of summer internships.

We review applications for Edge on an ongoing basis and candidates are selected to receive career prep resources, training, and coaching year-round. Candidates seeking summer internships with our partners are reviewed October through April and selections are made on a rolling basis.

While there’s no replacing an in-person experience, we understand that not everyone can get to NYC for the event. If you can’t make it in person, we’ve taken steps to ensure you can log in virtually, that Summit remains engaging and you’ll feel like you’re in the room.
