What is Tech Developer LITE?
Our LITE Track is a condensed, part-time asynchronous version of our core Tech Developer program — designed for students who need to balance summer learning with other commitments. Although the LITE track is shorter and less intense than the Residency, you’ll still get the same content and benefits — covering essential curriculum topics at your own pace and gaining the core skills you need without the pressure of a full-time schedule.
Tech Developer Lite
is for you if:
You want a more flexible schedule
You prefer to set your own study schedule within the four-week program
You prefer an asynchronous learning environment
You excel when learning at your own pace, managing your workload independently
You have other summer commitments and can only commit to a part-time program
You need to balance SEO learning with an internship, job, or other summer events
How it works
Tech Developer Lite is a four-week virtual asynchronous learning track held over the summer. You’ll be assigned coursework and projects to complete at your own pace, and receive virtual support from SEO Tech Developer staff and mentors.

Summer: 4 weeks, approx. 15-20 hours/week

Application Qualifications
All who meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:

Enrolled as a sophomore at an accredited, four-year US college or university OR students who will be transferring to an accredited, four-year university upon completion of their two-year degree.

Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, MIS, and other quantitative concentrations preferred. All majors are considered.

Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, Java, C++, etc.).

3.0+ GPA preferred

Tech Developer Lite is a condensed, part-time, asynchronous version of the core Tech Developer program. While it’s shorter and less intense than the full summer residency, you’ll still receive the same essential curriculum content and program benefits — just delivered in a more flexible format that allows you to learn at your own pace without a full-time time commitment.
Tech Developer Lite runs for four weeks during the summer and requires approximately 15–20 hours per week. The program is fully virtual and asynchronous, allowing you to set your own study schedule. You’ll complete assigned coursework and projects independently, with access to virtual support from SEO Tech Developer staff and mentors throughout the program.
This program is designed for students who already have some programming experience and want to continue building their technical skills while balancing other summer commitments. Applicants are typically sophomores (or rising juniors transferring from a two-year college), with a preference for quantitative majors such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering — though all majors are considered. A 3.0+ GPA is preferred, and familiarity with at least one programming language (such as Python, Java, or C++) is expected.
